Pick the Latest Book for the Binge Free Book Club!

September 30, 2012 by Lindsey

Grouchy at home today, I went on an adventure. I live on the wild side: I walked to the library and the grocery store. Whoa, I know, I need to tone it down.

At the library, I picked up some books I had on hold that I’m excited about. Some others also caught my eye and they’re free, so I piled up a big stack and checked them ALL out. I don’t have a Kindle, iPad, Nook, any other device (pleasenomoretimeinfrontofascreen!!!) so I am still 100% old school with my print books and newspapers. I am  content with my grandmaness.

Anyway…

I need your help prioritizing which book to read first! I’m a fast reader, but I can’t read them all at once.

Goldilocks’ Binge Free Book Club

Each time I finish a book, I’ll post a review here giving my input on how useful I think it is for the weight loss, healthy living, and binge-breaking journey. I’ll also post how likely it was to put me to sleep (i.e. B-O-R-I-N-G), and, because it’s important to me in some topics– how funny it was. I’ll also give it a ranking in gold stars, or maybe bears? To go with my theme? Of course the top ranking will be 3! Oh, I’m so cheesy.

If you’re curious about the title and topic, feel free to join in and share your thoughts on the book as you read. I’ll do the same when I come across anything earth-shatteringly brilliant.

Here are the choices for the first book:

The Rules of “Normal Eating”

Getting a Grip: On My Body, My Mind, and My Self

The End of Overeating

The Complete Beck Diet for Life

Thin is the New Happy

Which one are you most interested in? Have you read any of them before?

I would say the rules for “normal” eating, since normal is such a funny thing. I’d be curious what it has to say!

Thanks for your vote, Liz! You’re right– who knows what “normal” is. So far, it’s a tie between The Rules and The End of Overeating. I’ll post an update with the “winner” soon! 🙂
